A woman is facing impaired driving charges after an incident in Weyburn early Sunday morning.

Weyburn Police Chief Jamie Blunden said the situation started after a call just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday through the Report Impaired Drivers program.

“Our members were able to go down, look in the area, and they located the individual suspect vehicle,” Blunden explained. “As a result of pulling that person over, they were able to apply a roadside alcohol screening device, which she failed.”

Blunden added the woman was taken to the station for a breath test, and there, the results were said to have been 130 milligrams and 140 milligrams of alcohol per 100, which is over the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

The woman is now charged with driving while impaired and will appear in court at a future date on the charge.
