The most recent sale of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights generated just over $15 million in revenue for the provincial government. The majority of the value of the bids came from southeast Saskatchewan, in particular near Radville. Overall, through two offerings in the 2018-19 fiscal year, the province has raised over $18 million in revenue.

The highest bid received was for an exploration license 40 kilometres southeast of Radville. Stomp Energy Ltd. bid $10.5 million for the license, which is prospective for the Radcliffe Beds in the Madison Group, as well as the Bakken, Torquay and Red River formations.

Another eight leases were bid on in the southeast. The highest price for a lease was in the Torquay Main formation, just west of Estevan.

The next public offering of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights will be on August 14th of this year.
