Corey Wheaton continued his outstanding season for the Weyburn Beavers. The speedy outfielder from Arizona had three hits, three RBI and stole his league-leading 30th base in Weyburn’s 5-4 win over Moose Jaw on Saturday.

There were 205 fans were on hand at Tom Laing Park to witness the Eastern Division-leading Beavers 37th win of the season.

Conner DiNaro made his seventh start and earned his third win of 2018. The junior from  Mayville State University pitched eight innings allowing four runs while striking out seven. Shandon Herrera came out of the bullpen for the ninth inning and got the save.

Moose Jaw Mason Garispe starter fell victim to the Beavers bats and took the loss after four innings.

Today the Beavers are in Regina to face the Red Sox.
