Weyburn City Council will have some heavy discussions ahead of them Monday night when they meet for the final time this month.

The agenda includes the city’s policy on the naming of civic property. This includes the selection of names for any municipally-owned or controlled facilities, as well as streets, suburban developments, neighbourhoods and parks. The policy is designed to prevent duplication, and ensure proper screening of suggested names to make sure they are consistent with the established guidelines.

Council will also discuss a request for the waiver of the off-site development levy. This time, it is for a residential development.

Kenjo Holdings is requesting the fee be waived for the CottonWood project on Hartney Avenue.

The meeting will be held in chambers at City Hall starting at 5:00 p.m. We will have full coverage of the meeting on air and online Tuesday morning.
