It seems like clockwork.

Thanksgiving comes and goes, and suddenly, there is a little bit more of a bite in the air. Things are a little cooler, the leaves seem to change colour a little faster, and it feels like we could see some snow at any given time.

This year, it isn’t all that much different. For the week after the long weekend, temperatures are expected to take a drop, and the trend is expected to carry over right into the weekend.

The average daytime temperature for this time of year is 14°, with overnight lows dipping down to -2°. This week, aside from today, the temperature during the day will struggle to get up towards 7°, with overnight lows dropping down to -8°.

This is much the same as last year, however, with the temperatures around Thanksgiving dropping well below normal, before bouncing back up a week later to above seasonal for a few days. Many people will also be hoping for weather like It was two years ago when the daytime highs stayed above the 10-degree mark for much of the last half of the month.

While the weather may seem a little chilly over the coming days, we do have a trend to look forward to, especially when it comes to Hallowe’en. The temperatures tend to stay above freezing during the daytime in the majority of October, and the last time Weyburn saw a daytime high that didn’t break the freezing mark on Hallowe’en was in 2006.
