Five entrepreneurs, each with a different perspective, but one common goal - success.

For a second year in Weyburn, Sweet Success celebrated the stories of local women entrepreneurs from southern Saskatchewan.

Weyburn's Krista Missal was one of five speakers at this year event held at the Weyburn Travelodge on Nov. 3, where she shared her success story as a pharmacist and managing partner at Pharmasave.

"It's just such a great way to network and make sure we reach as many people as possible with some of the good learning lessons," said general manager of Sunrise Community Futures, Verna O'Neill.

This year, Sweet Success was hosted by the Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan Inc. in six different locations across the province.

In Weyburn, Sunrise Community Futures, the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce and the Clarence Campeau Development Fund also helped accommodate the night.

"Events like the Sweet Success, or any of the sessions that Community Futures Sunrise is involved in, all have the aim to promote entrepreneurship in the province," said O'Neill.

The focus of the night was sharing stories of successes and failures, creating a vision for your business and remaining consistent with that goal.

"All of these really, really good goals have stayed with them since the inception of the of the business," said O'Neill about what she took away from the night.

Katie VingeThe other four speakers included Clair Belanger-Parker and Shannon Loutitt of the International Indigenous Speaker Bureau, Leah Knibbs of Knibbs/associates HR Consulting and Sourcing People, and Katie Vinge of The Happy Nun Cafe.

O'Neill said Community Futures has connected with some of these women before, whether it was through these women attending workshops or talking with them about their small business. She specifically remembers working with Vinge, who owns the Happy Nun Cafe in Forget.

"We've been really tremendously pleased to see that she's grown the business and really put her own spin on an already successful business and is growing, doing great things out there," said O'Neill.
