After a difficult battle of back and forth appeals the Calvary Baptist Church in Weyburn has won their second appeal where they were fighting to not have a liquor store located right next to the church.

"There had been an appeal process between the City of Weyburn, a local liquor establishment, a local business owner, and the Calvary Baptist Community Church regarding the placement of a liquor store next to our property," shared Calvary Baptist Pastor Tim MacKinnon. "The appeal has been won by the church on a count of the City of Weyburn misapplying and violating various bylaws. This is what was stated in what was sent to us. As a result of this decision, the appeal presented by the business owners to the City of Weyburn regarding the crossing of the buffer strip behind their property has been deemed moot. With all that the church expresses their best wished to the liquor establishment, the business owners, and the City of Weyburn going forward."

At this point, another appeal can be made by either of the opposing parties if they wish to do so.
