A Weyburn resident has received one of the top national honours from her employer.

Liza Sarmiento is the manager of McDonald’s in Weyburn and was named one of the Outstanding Managers of the Year by the company. The announcement was made late last week.

Sarmiento has worked with McDonald’s for more than 20 years. She started with the company in her hometown of Manila, Philippines, and then moved to Weyburn in 2013 where she continued with the company.

“It’s always going above and beyond what is expected,” Sarmiento said about her successes with the company.

“Working at McDonald’s for 20 years, this award feels incredibly special and fulfilling on a personal level,” added Sarmiento. “I would like to credit my entire restaurant team for helping me achieve this award. Without their own hard work and dedication, I wouldn’t be able to excel in my role or receive accolades like this.”

“Liza continues to go above and beyond to make sure the restaurant operates at a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality,” said Amir Aminpour, the owner of the Weyburn franchise. “Liza’s attention to crew satisfaction, which directly translates into excellent guest experiences, is second to none. This award is a well-deserved achievement.”

The Outstanding Manager of the Year award from McDonald's Canada is handed out to the top managers from the 1,400 McDonald’s restaurants across Canada.
