Since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Saskatchewan in March, there have now been 89 deaths linked to the virus. The provincial government reported three more deaths Sunday – two in Saskatoon in the over 80 age group and one in Regina in the 70-79 age group.  

The news came as 222 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the province Sunday afternoon, along with 128 recoveries. Many of the new cases were reported in Saskatoon and Regina, where there were 53 and 57 cases, respectively. Another 39 cases were reported in the North West zone, 15 in the Far North West zone, 15 in the North Central zone, nine in the Far North East zone, eight in the Central East zone, six each in the North East and South Central zones, five in the South East zone, four in the South West zone and three in the Central West zone.  

The seven-day average of daily new cases in Saskatchewan is now 264. 

As of Sunday, there were 117 people in the hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19. There are 94 people receiving in-hospital treatment, while another 23 are in intensive care.  

Along with the five new cases reported in the South East, there was also a recovery reported. The number of active cases in the zone is now 164. Of those, six people are in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.
