The Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions were at the Legion in Weyburn this weekend.

On Friday SAASE held training sessions, round table discussions and information sharing between the convention attendees and yesterday they held an awards banquet.

Weyburn Agricultural Society were honoured with the 110 year award, which was presented to Jeff Clay, President, Weyburn Ag. Society.

"It's an honour to be a part of an association thats been around that long," said Clay.

"SAASE has been in existence in various forms since about 1920," said Neal Keefe, A Director on the Board of SAASE and Historian on the Board with the Weyburn Agricultural Society.

The convention gave SAASE the opportunity to tackle different issues.

"We are currently in the process of implementing a new ID system for livestock," said Ritchie.

"Its very important. A lot of people dont know the impact its going to have on all the societies but it is becoming mandatory. As well as we have a couple of sessions on social media which is very important to our societies and exhibitions."

SAASE also discussed the legalisation of Cannabis, serving rights of Alcohol and how governing boards work.
