(NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter)

Saskatchewan's MLA's will return to the Legislature on Monday for the last session before November's provincial election. Dwain Lingenfelter, the leader of the Opposition New Democrats, says they will use the session to lay out some of their platform for the upcoming campaign.

Lingenfelter says, "we've done a bit of that already, with our announcement that we intend to look to get more money from the Potash Corporation, so we can do many things for families, like more healthcare, more schools, more seniors care, more daycare, because right now the PotashCorp isn't paying any royalty to the people of the province and we think that is just not on going forward."

Lingenfelter adding they've also announced a rent control program in their platform to help low-income renters in Saskatchewan. He says, "we're going to implement a program of rent control, so that people are not being gauged by the people who own apartments, but we're also saying that we need a major housing program that will build thousands of new homes for low and medium income families, so housing is affordable in the province."

The Spring Session is scheduled to end on May 19th.
