Carlyle was one of the many communities in Saskatchewan that was fortunate enough to receive funding through the government's Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP). One of the projects that the town received funding for was a spray park.

A total of $216,742 was allocated to the town for three separate projects, including rubber paving at their swimming pool, repair to the Carlyle Sports Arena, and finally the spray park.

"This will be a new addition for our community," said Natalie Miller, Chief Administrative Officer for the town of Carlyle "Council is currently reviewing location and contractors for this project."

A total of $147,242 was allocated to the construction of the new spray park, which has been a project that's been talked about for the past while in the town.

"We've had some requests from community members for a splash park," Miller added. "There was a group in the community that did some leg work for this project and presented a proposal to council. So we felt this funding would be a great opportunity to offer this to our community."

Currently, the project is still in the planning stages, as settling on a location is the first step in beginning this project. There are many factors to take into consideration, including water pipes, accessibility, and operation costs in different areas.
