For those who have been missing browsing their local library will be happy to know the Weyburn Public Library will reopen its doors for relatively regular operations on Tuesday.

"Obviously we're placing a lot of emphasis on health and safety, so for the time being lot of the services we're offering now, we're going to contine to offer, like the curbside pickup service," explained Branch Manager Matthew Rankin.

People will now be allowed to go into the library to look for books.

"We're going to be emphasizing a 'look, and touch only if you're taking the item', just so we dont have to put as many books into quarantine," he said. "We will have shelves set up around the library where if you do touch a book, and you decide not to take it, you can just put it there and we'll put it into quarantine."

Public washrooms will be open, and the available computers may soon be expanding to three from two. Printing services are also available.

"We are still asking that people bring exact change for the printing."

"We're going to allow groups to come back, but they're going to be required to sanitize the room that they're in, make sure that any supplies they bring with them, they bring back," Ranking noted.

"We are returning to normal hours, so 65 hours a week," he said, noting the hours change begins after the long weekend on Tuesday. "Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 8:30 and then on Saturdays from 9:30 to 6:00, and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00, so regular hours. We won't have completely full services, but we're almost there."

Rankin said they will also soon begin offering programming and other services.

"We'll be updating as we get organized and get things back up to speed, but Facebook, our website, and our voicemail will be updated to let people know," he shared.

While book-browsing will be available, many of the implements, such as separate entrance and exit, and tape on the floor, will remain in effect.
