The season coming to a close for the PAR Contracting Ravens a few weeks shorter than planned. They fell 38-30 to the Assiniboia Rockets in the quarterfinals of the Moose Jaw Minor Football League Pee Wee Playoffs Thursday night.

The Ravens, who entered the game as the number four seed in the playoffs, had a regular season record of 3-3. They matched up well with the Rockets, though, who were 5-1 on the season.

The two teams played a close battle through all four quarters, with the game tied 30-30 with 53 seconds left on the clock. The Rockets were able to find the final gear, however, scoring with just 45 seconds left on the clock to take the lead.

The other quarterfinal game played last night saw the Moose Jaw Mustangs take on the Moose Jaw Vikings. It was the Vikings, who finished the regular season in second, beating the Mustangs by a score of 12-8.

For the Pee Wee Crescent Point Energy Eagles, they will need to wait until tonight who they will face in the semi-finals, having earned a bye by virtue of finishing first in the league. The Eagles play the winner of the game between the Estevan Chargers and the Moose Jaw Lions.

The Bantam Young Fellow Falcons begin their pursuit of the league title tomorrow afternoon. They host the Swift Current Steelers at Weyburn Minor Football Field, with the game starting at 1:00 p.m. The Falcons shutout the Steelers 28-0 in their last meeting on September 29th.
