It was a high-scoring affair at Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox Monday night, and in the end, it was the Bantam AA Crescent Point Wings who came out ahead. They beat the Notre Dame Hounds 7-6 in overtime.

Rylan Erb led the way for the Wings, as he picked up a hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime. He scored with 2:26 left on the clock in the extra frame for the win.

The Wings opened the scoring early in the game when Andrew Altwasser scored just 1:21 into the first period. He was assisted on the goal, his second of the season, by Dylan Birnie and Jake Young.

The Hounds would reply five minutes later as Chase Torchinski beat Wings netminder Lucas Day. The tie would be short-lived, as just a minute and a half later, Erb scored his first of the game, assisted by Walker Watson.

The scoring key up at a rapid pace. Just over a minute later, Notre Dame tied the game up once again. This time it would be Jesse Swanson scoring for the Hounds.

Before the period would end, though, the Wings would take the lead one more time, as Sawyer Kopec notched his first of the season, assisted by Birnie and Watson.

The Hounds would tie things up again in the second period, as Nathan Croteau scored a power-play goal just before the five-minute mark. Neither team would find the twine for over ten minutes, the longest stretch in the game without a goal. With four minutes left in the period, though, the teams would make up for it.

Erb notched his second of the game, assisted by Parker Douglas, with 3:45 left in the period. The power play marker would give the Wings the lead. Cody Walker would change that two minutes later, as he scored for Notre Dame to tie it back up 4-4. The Hounds would then take their first lead of the game with eight seconds left on the clock. Swanson scored his second of the game on the power play.

Weyburn tied things up at the seven-minute mark of the third period when Walker Watson found the twine behind Notre Dame goalie Casey Johnson. He was assisted on the goal by Erb and Douglas.

The Hounds would jump out ahead one more time, as Torchinski scored his second of the game on the power play just past the halfway mark of the period. Weyburn would find a way to tie the game up, though.

Cooper Chisholm scored on the power play with just under three and a half minutes left. Watson and Dallen Oxelgren were credited with the assists on the goal.

In the extra frame, Erb would finish off the hat-trick bid. His game-winner came just past the halfway mark of overtime and gave the Wings the victory. Tanner Rowland assisted on the goal.

The Wings now improve to 2-2- on the season, and are in second place in the South Division of the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League. They will have a few days off before they host the Saskatoon Generals on Saturday at Crescent Point Place for a matinee affair.
