The winning streak for the Bantam AA Whitecap Resource Wings ended Wednesday night, as they fell 5-4 to the Broncos in Swift Current. With a record of 7-1, the Wings remain atop the South Division of the SAAHL.

Swift Current came out of the gates and jumped to an early 2-0 lead. Kalan Lind and Campbell Pinsonneault scored in the opening period. Lind then scored just over five minutes into the second period to make it a 3-0 game.

The Wings responded when Karter Haupsteon scored with 13:39 remaining in the middle frame. Noah Kopec then made it a one-goal game with a goal with five minutes remaining in the second, assisted by Andon Hoff.

In the third period, Quinn Mantei scored an unassisted goal at the 3:37 mark to tie the game up 3-3. The draw wouldn’t last too long, as Ryder Knutson restored the lead for the Broncos just two minutes later. Carter Herman then made it a two-goal game shortly afterwards.

Brock Stewart would score a late goal for the Wings, but they couldn’t close the gap, coming home with the 5-4 loss.

The Wings are now off until Sunday when they will host the North East Wolfpack at Crescent Point Place.
