Weyburn takes the spotlight in this year's One Book One Province, presented by the Saskatchewan Library Association. Each year, a single book is chosen, and this time Jennifer S Wallace's "Miss G and Me" illuminates her mother's journey from Jamaica to Weyburn in the 1960s, where her initial job was at the Weyburn General Hospital.

“This is an award-winning book, it shares her daughter's insights into her Jamaican mother's immigrant story and familial relationships. The Weyburn Public Library was actually chosen as one of the author's reading locations,” explained Adult Programmer, Krista Klemmer.

In 2020, Wallace was recognized for her work, Miss G and Me and was awarded third place in the Saskatchewan Writers Guild, John V Hicks, Long Manuscript Award for Creative Nonfiction.

The author reading will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Weyburn Public Library. To reserve your spot call (306)842-4352.
