Seven weeks ago, Weyburn Soccer Association kicked off their spring house league. Next week, that season comes to a close.

But first, they need to celebrate with Weyburn Soccer Association's Family Day.

"You know, the last two years we've had to miss family day, and family day, to me, is one of the best days of the year. It's up there with Christmas," laughed Weyburn Soccer Association President Jason Roy. "The families come out and they play soccer and everybody's in the park at the same time."

Last year they hosted a day in earnest, as covid restrictions had just lifted as the season came to an end. This year, however, they are looking to return to their pre-covid standards by including interactive activities, food, and A LOT of soccer games.

"This year we're including a games day," noted Roy. "So we are playing host again and we'll be bringing in communities such as Moose Jaw, Swift Current, and Yorkton to play games all weekend."

Family Day kicks off on Saturday, June 18th, at 9:00 a.m. at Jubilee Park and will include all the house leagues taking to the field, plus the games day and ALL their draws, raffles, and prizes for the year.

Of course, the event wouldn't be possible without the help of volunteers and Roy noted that they are always looking for more people to help out.

"This would be a great volunteer opportunity. It'll be so much fun it will feel like you aren't even working!"

Anyone wanting to volunteer can contact the Weyburn Soccer Association.

Good luck to all the up-and-coming soccer stars heading out to Family Day this weekend!
