The Weyburn Humane Society received some sizable donations courtesy of the Weyburn Pet Valu as part of their 'Thanks-for-Giving' donation drive. Because of the community's generous support, the Humane Society has received various items to help them take care of their busy kennels.

And this could not have come at a better time, according to Shelter Manager Colleen Morrice.

"We're so excited about what we got donated by Pet Valu. We got cat litter, kitten food, puppy food, lots of canned food," Morrice explained. "Lots of everything we were actually out of at the shelter."

Morrice says earlier they had 43 cats in the shelter, but thanks to adoptions they now only have 35.

"We really need these donations to take care of these kittens that are coming in," Morrice added "This food is very beneficial to these animals."

She encourages anyone looking for furry friends to contact them and look into adoption.
