Yesterday, the Weyburn Beavers were in Lumsden to chew bubblegum and win some games, and they were all out of bubblegum.

Their first game was against the home team, the Lumsden Cubs.

The Beavers were able to secure and keep their lead throughout the game with one run in the 1st inning. They were then able to land three more runs in the 3rd inning, and again in the 5th. The Beavers then wrapped it up with two more in the 6th.

With their aggressive tenacity, the Beavers brought home a 9-0 victory over the Cubs, preventing them from getting even a single run on their home turf.

Riding on the momentum gained from their first victory on Saturday, the Beavers then went on to hit the field against the Prince Albert Royals.

The Beavers started off strong with a six-run 1st inning. The Royals tried to match the aggressive start, however, they had no luck as the Beavers only allowed them their one and only run for the game.

There was no slowing down as the Beavers worked through the 2nd and 3rd innings, gathering another two runs. However, the 4th inning is where the Beavers applied backbreaking pressure against the Royals. The Beavers landed a total of 10 runs in the 4th inning to bring the score up to a victorious 18-1.

Following the massive 4th inning, there were no runs in the 5th and the game concluded at the top of the 6th.

The Beavers came home with two well-earned victories and will have a few days to relax before going up against the Regina Buffalos on Tuesday.
