It's Valentine's Day again, and shops and florists are sure to be busy with those choosing the perfect items for loved ones.

The Retail Council of Canada found that Canadians spend $92.30 on gifts, however, more then 66% said they cared less about gifts, and more about spending quality time together.

A survey by MasterCard Canada says almost half of all men purchased their gifts the day before or on Valentine’s Day, compared to the 60% of women who get their shopping done a week before.

Valentine's cards purchased average $8 each, and the most requested gift by men and women, was a night out on the town.
