A family favourite will return to Nickle Lake Regional Park for the third year in a row. Halloween in the Park will be held on August 12th.

Park Manager Darren Wheeler said they had around 300 children participating in last year's event.

"This year, we're anticipating the same, if not more. We're looking for a great weekend," he commented.

"In our Beaver Den from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., they're going to have Halloween-related activities, so it just gives people time to get their sites decorated throughout the day and ready for the night."

He said the evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., will be the best time for trick or treating, as it cools down more by then, especially if it's a hot one that day.

Either way, "They can dress up and not have their winter parka on over top of their costume," Wheel noted.

But first, sponsors are needed to help with candy as well as prizes, so anyone interested can contact the park office at (306) 842-7522.

There is no limit to the creativity allowed for costumes or site decorating, and prizes will be handed out for the best of both.

"It's wide open," said Wheeler. "Whatever you want to do, and hopefully it's not 300 degrees out, but it's nice out."

A map will be provided of participating sites, which will be posted on the Nickle Lake Regional Park Facebook page, found HERE.

During the prize presentations, goody bags will be handed out to the participating children.

This event is just one of many being held throughout the summer at the park. Nickle Lake Day is being held on August 5th, with a trade show, live music, and a variety of other activities happening throughout the day. Read more HERE
