In the final match of a five game road swing, the Weyburn Red Wings notched their first shutout of the season, beating the Notre Dame Hounds 2-0.

Jack Burgart turned away all 26 shots that he faced in the win. The offense came from Josh Lees, whose power play marker in the second period was his eighth of the season, and from Tucker Neuberger who put up his second goal of the season early in the third. Mike Eskra, who was just named the SJHL Defenseman of the Week, continued where he left off in the four games against the Sherwood Division teams with an assist on Lees' goal, giving him ten points on the season.

The Red Wings start a four game homestand on Saturday, when the Humboldt Broncos come to town. That game will be at Crescent Point Place, starting at 7:30pm.

The Red Wings were also busy on the phones yesterday. The team announced that they had traded forward Jake Ellingson to the Cochrane Crunch of the NOJHL for future considerations. The 19 year old from South Dakota scored one goal in six games with the Red & White.
