Derrick Pouliot

Local boy Derrick Pouliot and the Portland Winterhawks had just the start to their 2nd round series as they'd hoped.

The Hawks opened up their series last night versus fellow American team, the Spokane Chiefs. Pouliot, the Pittsburgh Penguins prospect had 1 goal and 3 apples, helping the Hawks to a 7-2 statement win in game 1.

Derricks teammate, and highly touted prospect, Ty Rattie of Airdrie, also added a hat-trick in the 3rd period.

Game 2 between the Winterhawks and Chiefs will take place tonight, in Portland, Oregon.
