While hunting season is well underway, conservation officers are on the look out for violators.

"In the southeast especially, I find right now that the unlawful harvest of moose in the southeast continues to be a real issue. We're getting lots and lots of complaints about that. We're dealing with lots of conflicts between landowners and hunters," shared local Conservation Officer Lindsey Leko.

He added they are currently looking for information on the man in the picture above. "We just got some information and we got his picture on a trail cam. We just think he's a guy that can provide us some information on a couple of violations we're looking into," explained Leko.

The fines for unlawfully harvesting moose are a minimum of $2,800 and a mandatory hunting suspension. A loaded fire arms fine ranges from about $450 to $500 and hunting on posted land is a $500 fine.
