The Pee Wee AA Young Fellow Wings starter 2018 off on the right foot Wednesday night. They skated to a 9-1 win over the Estevan Pee Wee Bruins at Crescent Point Place. With the win, the Wings improve to 13-2-2 on the season and are in first place in the league.

The Bruins scored the first goal of the game, as Ty Hoste beat Weyburn netminder Ryan Hicks with eight minutes remaining in the first period. It would be the only goal of the night scored on Hicks, as he proceeded to shut down the Bruins as the offense in front of him opened up.

With just over a minute remaining in the first period, Conner Kerr tied the game up for the Wings. Weyburn would enter the dressing room after 20 minutes with the game tied at one but were determined to come away with the win.

In the second period, the Wings tallied four times. Cade Cole started the scoring before the period was five minutes old. Van Eger then scored his first of two on the night, and captain Quinn Mantei added another goal. The scoring in the middle frame was wrapped up when Ty Mason scored his first of the game.

The third period saw the Wings continue to dominate the play, as they scored four more goals.

Owen Istace scored just before the period was half over. Blaze Gutzke and Eger then scored just seconds apart a minute later. Capping off a four-goal rally in two minutes, Mason scored his second of the game.

The Wings are now off until January 13th. They will be traveling up to Melville that weekend for a pair of games against the Pee Wee Millionaires.
