Every spring, Quota International of Weyburn celebrates the wonderful women in our community by hosting the Women of the Year awards.

The nomination deadline is fast approaching for this year's awards. They are due by this Friday, March 8th.

“It's important that we get them in on time,” said event co-ordinator Jo Bannatyne-Cugnet. “Every year, we usually get a wonderful selection of women from our community, because of course, all you have to do is walk out the door and it doesn't matter if you're at the school or a hospital or downtown shopping, you see women at work and you see them making a difference after school or in the evening when you're attending events."

The four awards are for Community Service, Workplace Excellence, Exceptional Entrepreneur and Young Woman of Distinction.

The nominees will be announced at a tea at Grace United Church at 2:00 p.m. on March 24th.

“We have the awards on April 9th, Tuesday at noon hour, and we have Andrea Robertson, the CEO and President of STARS, who will be speaking about her personal journey,” said Bannatyne-Cugnet. “She's really very inspiring and kind of a dynamite gal and I just know that everyone's going to enjoy hearing her speak, as well as the fact that we will be celebrating women in our community on that day.”
