More than books! This year's spring book sale at the Weyburn Public Library promises to thrill bookworms, but there's an extra spark of excitement. New this year is a large silent art auction; art lovers can look forward to placing their bids and eagerly await the results over three days.

The staff has been diligently preparing for the event; however, Branch Manager Dawn Silver notes that they've also received valuable assistance from volunteers, which they greatly appreciate. “I must admit our ‘volunteens’ did an amazing job on Friday. I could not believe how quick and efficient that group was. They were getting their volunteer hours, and they would just whip things up, they were just full of energy, and they were just fun to work with.”

Silver explained that they are approximately halfway through the preparations and expressed her enthusiasm about the arrival of additional volunteers, including staff from the Weyburn Credit Union who are scheduled to arrive after banking hours and help set up for the event.

“Talk about real grassroots community support. We're just so lucky,” added Silver.

Art and book donations are still welcome as they continue preparing for the three-day event. Silent auction items will also be posted on the Weyburn Public Library website. The sale will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and will wrap up on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
