In the community of Lang, a handful of dedicated volunteer firefighters provide peace of mind for local residents and those in the surrounding area. Although their department is small, these volunteers face numerous calls for service each and every year providing an absolutely vital service for their rural community. Now, they ask the communities they serve to join them for a wonderful evening of fellowship and food at their 3rd annual Steak Night fundraiser.

The social is planned for the evening of March 9th beginning with cocktails at 5:00 p.m. and Supper at 6:00 p.m. and is an all-ages event. Pre-ordered meals are available for $35 each, with children's meals also available for $12. Rustie Dean, the Event Organizer, said that in addition to a delicious meal prepared and served by the firefighters themselves, there will also be an extensive silent auction for guests to enjoy.

"There is going to be a wide array of silent auction items for people to check out. There's jerseys, and stuff for farmers, stuff for ladies as well, and even toys for the kids," she described. "If you come out for a steak, you'll definitely find a reason to stay around for a while!"

Proceeds gathered from the supper and silent auction will go directly back into funding Lang's volunteer fire department, paying for the upkeep of their equipment and important training for their members, and contributing to their future growth. Dean was also quick to mention how much the firefighters appreciate sharing the evening with their friends, both new and old.

"It's always such a nice time to have people come from near and far and come gather at the hall to enjoy a steak dinner," she expressed. "The fire department will be serving the steak dinner and cooking the steaks as well, so they're really involved in being a part of the whole thing from start to finish. We're looking forward to having everyone join us on March 9th!"
