Voting for the James Weir Peoples Choice closes on Friday.

I'll give you a moment to let that sink in...

That's right, Friday. How can time fly so fast?

If you haven't seen the show yet, there's only one week left to check it out and vote on your favourite artwork. That's right, the JWPC is an art show You can vote on! Curator Regan Lanning has been doing tours of the JWPC for school groups and others in the area. These tours are a great opportunity to learn and discuss art, design, material, method, symbolism, colour, concept, and so much more. There will be one public tour offered on Wednesday, February 19th at 7 pm.

After voting closes, the names of the artists will be posted next to their artwork. If you're familiar with local artists, it's sometimes pretty obvious who created certain artwork. As someone who helped set up the show, I can say there are a few that seem obvious and others a bit less so. Definitely some conversation starters! Once voting is closed and artist names are up, Weyburn Arts Council will be counting the votes in preparation for the Reception & Winners Announcements happening on Thursday, February 27th at 7 pm.

Also at the reception, Weyburn Arts Council will have details on some changes to their Gifted Art Sale, which will be happening next fall.
