The Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation is hosting a Mexican-themed event called "Let's Fiesta" on Saturday, April 1st, to help raise money for the new hospital being built in Weyburn. The money raised will help cover the costs of equipment and the building.

Since 2008, the non-profit organization has been working with various stakeholders in pursuit of a new hospital. Hospital construction is expected to start in the coming days.

Held at McKenna Hall, doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with local entertainment by Alfredo starting at 5:45 p.m. There will be a taco and churro bar starting at 6:30 p.m., including entertainment by Alfredo, and an 11-piece Mariachi Band, "Latinos en Regina," taking the stage at 8:00 p.m.

An update to the previous article: As of March 15th, the event has sold out. The Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation wanted to thank all their sponsors and everyone who purchased a table and individual tickets for the event.

The dress code for "Let's Fiesta" is casual: bright colors, flowy dresses, embroidered clothing, or anything festive.

There will be 50/50 tickets available: one for $5, three for $10 or 7 for $20. Silent auction items are payable by cheque or credit card at the event.

They are still looking for items for their silent auction; those interested can contact Whitney Johnson at the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation at 306-842-2626.
