"Y'all missed out on a good time if you didn't come!" That's according to C.J. Mainil, co-chair of the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation's Sock Hop, which was held earlier this month.

The fundraiser earned the foundation $5,000 plus an anonymous donation of $5,000 during the dance and dinner event brought the total raised to $10,000 towards a new hospital for Weyburn.

"The people that were there had a blast," shared Mainil, who explained that a group from Estevan was unable to attend due to the snowstorm that weekend.

Draws were made during the Sock Hop. Michael Mainil won the $4,000 CAA travel voucher and Taylor Peterson won a $100 gift card from Pump Jacks Saloon and Steak House.

The hospital foundation is already planning their next fundraiser. They are hosting a golf tournament in June.
