The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division, like a number of other school divisions across the province, will be exploring implementing a proof of vaccination policy for staff.

The director of education with the HFRCSSD, Gwen Keith, explained with other precautions that have been implemented by the school division to curb the spread of COVID-19, this would add one more layer of protection for staff and students.

The policy, which was drawn up by senior administration and has yet to be approved by the board, would see the staff having an option of showing proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or providing a negative COVID-19 test on a regular basis.

"It certainly, at this particular point, something that we want to share with our board," said Keith.

No timelines for the policy have been laid out at this time.

The policy will be on the agenda for the board at the next meeting, which is scheduled for October 13th.
