A gas leak in Weyburn over the noon hour caused several downtown businesses to evacuate their buildings.

A semi damaged the gas meter on a building on Souris Avenue between Third and Second Street.

Police and Fire rescue were on the scene immediately to block off the street while Sask Energy turned off the gas.

The gas has been turned off and employees downtown have returned to their buildings, including the radio station.
