Saskatchewan residents whose furnaces and water heaters were damaged by flooding will get government cheques soon. Corrections Minister Yogi Huyghebaert says residents in Maple Creek, one of the hardest-hit towns, are being fast-tracked and will get cheques in one or two weeks to replace those appliances.

The province's Disaster Assistance Program is reviewing furnace and water heater claims from other communities this week. People claiming for furnace or water heater replacements are asked to contact program officials with their claim number as soon as possible, then staff will flag their files so they can be paid on a priority basis.
