Eric Evans went the distance on the mound, while Kelton Hoium and Talen King had RBIs as the Weyburn Iron Pigs forced a decisive game three in the Qu’Appelle Valley Baseball League finals with a 2-1 win in eight innings over the Regina Rockies Wednesday night.

Evans threw 111 pitches in the win, striking out nine and allowing just one run on six hits.

At the plate, Hoium would drive in the game-tying run in the bottom of the 5th inning with a single to right field that cashed in Luke Niemegeers. Then, in the bottom of the eighth, the bases would be loaded for King. He would be hit by a pitch, and the Iron Pigs were able to walk off the Rockies.

Game three in the series will be played Thursday night in Regina, with the winner being crowned champions.
