This year’s Communithon community fundraiser will be happening on Friday, October 29 at the Weyburn Legion Hall from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and right now there is a real need for more entertainers and volunteers to sign up.

"As the fall hits Communithon preparation heads into overdrive and right now we are looking for entertainers," told Lindsay Manko-Bauche, Entertainment and Volunteer Sub Committee Chair. "So anyone in the community that has any sort of talent that they feel like they would like to express or showcase at the event is warmly welcomed to apply."

This year will be Weyburn's 40th year of hosting the annual Communithon event so this year the committee is hoping to find as many past entertainers as well.

"We're trying to draw in some of the old and the nostalgia of the past but also we're open to anything new," Manko-Bauche stated. "So even if you have an idea that you think might work fire us a message because we're really open to see what we can make happen to showcase all sorts of talent in this community."

If you would like to be an entertainer please take a look at the entertainer application page on the Communithon website HERE for more details and the form to apply.

They are also looking for volunteers to help out on the day of the event at the Legion and anyone interested in joining them can send a message through the Communithon website or on their Facebook page.

"We're hopeful that we're going to be able to have a full audience and will be able to showcase all of our talents live this year," expressed Manko-Bauche. "But there is the option for people that don't feel comfortable enough to perform live to submit a video as well and we'll be using a blended model. So some people can send in their videos and then we're also hoping to just bring back that really exciting raucous atmosphere that's at the Legion on Communithon day that we've seen in years prior."

Communithon raises funds for 11 different non-profit local Member Agencies and the committee hopes to be able to shatter past records for the amount of money raised at the annual event.
