Weyburn's own River Carlson will once again be joining the Team Saskatchewan Sledge Hockey Club at the 2023 Canadian Para Hockey Championship in Quebec this May 17th.
The group is selling raffle tickets to help reduce costs for flights, accommodations and other travel expenses.
The raffle tickets are $20, and can be purchased via e-transfer to teamsasksledgehockey@gmail.com or by texting (306) 861-2573 to make other arrangements.
"They can sponsor the team or just River," said Cherie Carlson.
The cash prizes for the raffle being drawn on April 17th are $1,500 and $1,000.
Head Coach Les Nemish in 2022 called working with this team 'an incredible opportunity.
"It's been a privilege to work with some of the best people and athletes that are part of the new team," he shared.
In their inaugural year last year, he said, "these incredible athletes took on every challenge head-on in the true Saskatchewan way. Taking on the best para ice hockey teams from across Canada at the national championship in the LeDuc, the knowledge we all gained as a team in our rookie year is invaluable and an awesome experience. It's all looking up from here for Team Saskatchewan."
