Curling (the sport) and crokinole (the disk flicking game) are being combined at the Credit Union Spark Centre.

The City of Weyburn has partnered with the Ag Society and the Curling Club to put together a big area of ice that will look like a crokinole board.

“We received a grant through South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District to purchase some rocks,” Andrew Crowe director of leisure services said. “It will be installed just north of the outdoor skating rink.”

Crowe said that it will be a free drop-in, and first come first serve once it’s installed.

“We’re currently building the ice so we don't know exactly when we'll be opening, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks.”

He added that he’s excited for the partnership that the City is building with the Curling Club and the Ag Society.
