A pair of Weyburn athletes proving to be Ironwomen this weekend at two separate events in Western Canada.

Alex Clarke was in Whistler B.C., where she was competing in the Ironman 70.3 Canada event. Clarke finished the event with a total time of 6:15:36. It was the 15th best time in her group (Female, 25-29).

Clarke finished up the swim portion of the event with a time of 36 minutes and 25 seconds. The bike ride, which is a 90-kilometre trek, was wrapped up in 3:21:14. The run, a 21.1 kilometre half marathon, was completed in 2:11:09.

At the Ironman 70.3 Calgary event, Sharon Styles continued to impress, as she was the top athlete in her group (female, 40-44), and had the second-best time of all women competing in the event. Her time of 4:30:21 even besting her times at the Great White North event earlier in July, and at the Puerto Rico Ironman event in March.

Styles wrapped up the swim in 31:20, then took to the bikes, where she put up a time of 2:19:53. She then completed the 21.1 kilometre run with a time of 1:35:53.
