The baseball season kicked off this weekend for some of the teams from Weyburn. Teams found themselves on the road, and at home, with some mixed success.

Mosquito

The Mosquito AAA Element Beavers played a pair of doubleheaders this weekend. On Saturday, they hosted the Estevan Sluggers at Jubilee Park. The Sluggers took the first game of the day 10-9. The Beavers would turn things around in the second game, coming away with a 19-10 victory.

Sunday, the Mosquito Beavers were in Regina, taking on the Pacers. The Pacers took the first game, holding the Beavers off the board en route to a 15-0 victory. Weyburn would once again respond in the second game of the day. This time, it was a 14-6 win.

The Mosquito Beavers will have a few days off now. They return to action on May 13th, when they host the Regina Buffalos at Jubilee Park.

Pee Wee

The Pee Wee AAA DFA Transport Beavers started their season at home on Saturday. They played host to the Swift Current 57’s.

In the first game of the day, it was a low-scoring affair, with Weyburn edging past Swift Current for a 3-2 win. In the second game, the 57’s would be the ones to come out on top, but this game was a little more high-scoring. The final for Swift Current was 18-17.

The Beavers will be back in action on Tuesday. They head up to Regina to take on the Paces.
