The Bantam AA Whitecap Resource Wings were back in action on Saturday, as they played host to the visiting Regina Aces. The Wings snapped a five-game winless streak with a 3-2 victory over the visitors.

Regina would be the first to get on the board in the game, as Jaxon Thorne scored at the 8:30 mark of the first. The power-play goal made it 1-0.

Weyburn responded in the second period.

Quinn Mantei would get a power-play marker of his own, scoring at the 6:08 mark of the middle frame. He was assisted on the goal by Blaze Gutzke and Noel Englot.

In the third period, Weyburn took the lead just 1:47 into the period as Wyatt LaCoste would find the twine behind Regina netminder Connor Weatherald. Englot and Mantei had the assists on the goal.

Gutzke would then score a goal of his own, assisted by Carter Skarbon, with 8:08 on the clock to extend Weyburn’s lead to 3-1.

With just 1:24 left to play, Brett Thachuk would score on Ryan Hicks to pull Regina within a goal, but it would be as close as they would get, as the Wings held on for the 3-2 victory.

The Bantam AA Wings now have some time off from league action. They return to the ice on December 11th when they host Prairie Storm at Crescent Point Place.
