Today we had the opportunity to chat with Abby Kradovill from the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club about some of their upcoming fundraisers and events.

The first big fundraiser they have coming up is their Drive-In Cinema Under the "Stars" that is set to take place on September 21st at the Weyburn Agricultural Society's Fair Grounds.

They told the public what the first film would be (Toy Story 4) but they saved the second film as a surprise... until now! Have a listen to Abby in the short audio clip below as she reveals what brand new movie they will be playing.

For those that can only make it for one of the films Abby said that they still encourage the public to come attend the event. "We had a few last year that just came for the later show because that worked for their schedule," explained Abby.

"As many people as you can fit in your car, with seat-belts, you can come to the drive-in for forty bucks a car load," Abby explained.

They have plenty of room for vehicles and hope to host over 500 automobiles, which leads to the potential of over 2000 viewers. This is an event suitable for everyone from families, couples, teenagers to friends of all ages.

And all of the money will be going towards the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club. "Basically this allows us to give high quality programming without having to raise the fees so that they are still affordable for families," told Abby.

Feel free to visit the WASC Facebook page to purchase your tickets or you can head to their official website as well.

You can purchase tickets at the door on the night of the event as well. However, if you purchase a pre-sale ticket in advance it comes with a few perks.

"With a pre-sale ticket you get a five dollar popcorn combo pack for free and anyone with a pre-sale ticket has an opportunity to enter the event first to avoid any line-ups," explained Abby.

The next event the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club has coming up is their Try Artistic Swimming & Registration Night which will take place at 4pm on September 26th at the Weyburn Leisure Centre.

"Anyone interested in trying Artistic Swimming can come," Abby said. "We'll give you a nose clip and a cap and you can try it out before registering."

And the last event the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club has coming up is their New Years Eve Casino Night Fundraiser, which will be taking place on December 31st from 6pm till 2am at McKenna Hall in Weyburn.

This is a great event for local businesses to host their Christmas party at. The fundraiser is open to all of the public that are nineteen years or older.

"This is a fundraiser for our senior athletes that are heading to Las Vegas to do a development camp with the Las Vegas Water Beauties," Abby explained. "These are the synchro swimmers that do the Cirque Du Soleil O & La Reve shows. It's a pretty amazing opportunity and were basically just trying to help keep funds lower for these athletes that are trying to travel to Las Vegas in February."
