Everybody needs a night out every now and then. Why not have your night out AND help a good cause?

The 9th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser (often referred to as the Night Out for CF), is set to go again Friday, May 26th at Makenna Hall.

Mike and Cara Weger have put together a huge event every year since their daughter, Teresa, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at two and a half.

"It's very important to point out we don't do it for our daughter, we do it because of our daughter," said Mike.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system, causing excessive mucus in the body which can lead to infection and potentional lung failure.

In Canada, there is only on health charity that works for a cure or control of the disease, that being Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and all the proceeds from the event go to that charity.

The night starts at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails, followed by supper at 7:00 and then an auction and special entertainment. This year, Tenille Arts will be back to take to the stage. She will also be joined by Private Drive, who will also have their own set.

Tickets are available until Monday, with an individual ticket being $60 and a table of 8, which includes 8 drink tickets, costing $500.

To purchase tickets you can contact NSWB Law Firm (842-4654), The Void or call/text/email Cara at 861-6713 or caraweger@sasktel.net.

To date, the support from Weyburn and surrounding areas has raised over $300,000 to help find a cure or control for Cystic Fibrosis.
