Another motorist has been picked up for impaired driving in Weyburn.

A 36 year old was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Driving While Over .08. "The incredible amount of public awareness that's gone on around impaired driving in the last couple of months, and the increased focus at the provincial level and from SGI, it just baffles me to see that we are picking up one and more than one impaired drivers a week in the city." said Weyburn Police Inspector, Rod Stafford.

"And in this particular case, again realizing that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but this is a multiple repeat offender that was dealt with and charged on the weekend." he added.

Stafford told Discover Weyburn police in Weyburn are arresting, on average, one or more people each week on charges of impaired driving. "We have to realize that it is a problem" he said. "We have to realize that the only people that can do anything about it is us, and that has to start with a conversation, and it has to start with having that difficult conversation with friends and family when you found they've been in a position where they've consumed too much alcohol and made it home the first time or the 101st time."

Stafford added that in Friday's incident, someone was nearly struck, and there was some property damage.
