Hard work and dedication culminated in a night of honours for a group of Weyburn high school students and their teacher in Saskatoon on the weekend.

The members of Weyburn Comprehensive's Junior Achievement Class were officially presented with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce national business award. They received the award from Saskatchewan's Minister of Education, Don Morgan.

The award was in recognition of the efforts of their company, OVERTIME. Last school year, it developed and sold lanyards and bracelets made from skate laces. They made a profit of $800 , which was donated to KidSport.

Their teacher, Margot Arnold, said only 4 members of her class could be there on Saturday, but it was a proud moment. "I wish all 16 could have been there. However, there are many away at post-secondaries, but I did have 4 students with me. Three that have graduated, and one that is presently in Grade 12." Arnold told Discover Weyburn.

"We want to thank CAMECO corporation for sponsoring our table and tickets to attend," she added. "And I just want to shout out to the class. OVERTIME was an excellent class to work with and they had such teamwork and dedication and commitment. They were a pleasure."

Arnold, called it a memorable night. "It was certainly a highlight for my students. Two of them said it was the fanciest affair they've been to, and so, I was thrilled to be able to have at least 4 there. But, as I said, I would have loved to have had all 16, and they would have wanted to have been there too, but couldn't."

This was the second year in a row that Weyburn Comprehensive High School's Junior Achievement company won the national award. And it was only the 3rd time in 40 years that the award went to Weyburn.

The accolades for the Junior Achievement Class included a tweet this summer from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
