Weyburn’s Rick Hallberg has been a dominant golfer in Saskatchewan, and he proved it again Thursday as he captured his second consecutive Senior Men’s Championship, and his third in four years.

Over the course of the three rounds, played at the Legends Golf Course in Warman, Hallberg finished 14-under, with rounds of 71, 65 and 66. He was 13 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher in the Senior Men’s division. The score was also good enough for Hallberg to win the Mid-Master's Championship by six strokes.

Hallberg also had the privilege of having an old friend be his caddy for the tournament. Norm DeLaet, who is also well known in Weyburn, was his caddy for the final two rounds of the tournament.

With the provincial title under his belt, he is now off to the national championships. They are scheduled for September 21-24, at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu in La Malbaie, Quebec.
