The rains have stopped, for now, in Weyburn.

Unofficial numbers have Weyburn receiving approximately 20 millimetres yesterday. The official data from Environment Canada is not available at this time. This means unofficially, yesterday was the most rain to fall in Weyburn on May 7th since 2007.

The amount of rainfall did vary by a wide margin throughout the southeast yesterday. Estevan received 33 millimetres of rain, while Coronach got 15 millimetres, Assiniboia 9.1, and Broadview 9.6. Across the province, the southwest did receive the most rain yesterday, with totals ranging from 52.5 millimetres in Cypress Hills Provincial Park to 26.3 millimetres in Shaunavon, and 15.8 millimetres in Swift Current.

After the low-pressure system that brought all the moisture, things are expected to warm up over the course of the next few days. Sunshine is expected for the weekend, with temperatures into the mid-20s for Mother’s Day on Sunday.
