Rain is something we have seen a lot of over the past few months.

After a much drier than normal early summer, August was nearly record-setting, and September could be on the way to the same.

So far this month, Weyburn has received 65.6 mm, according to Environment Canada. This is nearly double the average for the month, which is 33.2. It is now the 14th wettest September on record, with data stretching back to 1900.

The five-day forecast is calling for more rain over the next few days. With upwards of 15 mm expected, it could push this into the top 10 wettest September. The record - 105.9 mm in 1959.

The rain isn’t helping the agriculture industry.

In the southeast, producers were able to get in the fields for a short bit last week. Twenty-eight percent of the crop is in the bin, up from 24 percent in the previous week, and well behind the five year average of 64 percent.
