More details are expected to be released today about a final offer from the provincial government to the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation.

The STF issued a press release late Wednesday saying the offer came at the end of two days of what was described as difficult negotiations between the federation and the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee. The Teachers’ Bargaining Committee and the STF executive opted to bring the final offer as it was presented to the STF membership for a vote.

The final offer is said to be a three-year agreement and includes salary increases of three percent in years one and two and two percent in year three. The offer also includes the accountability framework surrounding a memorandum of understanding among the three parties – the STF, the provincial government, and the Saskatchewan School Boards Association.

The president of the STF, Samantha Becotte, is expected to speak to the media concerning the final offer on Thursday morning.

More to come.
